Kendo is a modern Japanese martial art of sword-fighting based on traditional samurai swordsmanship, or kenjutsu.

The ‘Ken’ means sword and ‘Do’ means way or path. Translating to ‘the way of the sword’, a path in life which is followed through the training of kendo.

Kendo builds character, self-discipline and respect and is rich with tradition. Kendo is a physically and mentally challenging activity that combines martial arts values with sport-like elements.

The Murrumbeena Kendo Dojo is Melbourne’s newest Kendo club. We are a very friendly
group and welcome anyone interested in Kendo. We train every Wednesday and would love
to have some new eager members to make the club even stronger.

Beginners are always welcome at our club. Getting started may seem a little daunting at first, so come along and do the Beginners Course. You will learn all the basics step by step. The course runs for 6 weeks with unlimited classes for just $78.
